The Bilco Sloped Wall Doors (also known as a Cellar Door) is installed on areaways with sloped sidewalls that are built into the foundation of the home. Sloped wall doors are manufactured from heavy gauge steel and can be attached to sidewalls of brick, stone, block, or poured concrete for new or existing applications. The door features an innovative lift assistance design. This new design features gas spring operators and supplemental coil springs to counterbalance the door which leaves for easy one-hand operation. The gas spring operators do the heavy lifting and the adjustable coils allow homeowners to fine-tune the operation of their door to match the angle of their sidewalls. Bilco’s sloped wall doors create a weather-tight seal that sheds water and keeps the areaway dry, free of debris, and prevents binding due to ice and snow. The frame of the door must overlap the foundation sidewalls by at least 2in. on each side.
